This “1619” conference is amazing come out and join us today, tomorrow and the NSU fabulous New Student Center.   Dr. Linda Haywood , Professor of History, Boston University, she tells us the life’s story of Queen Njinga. She came from a family of rulers…Queen Njinga, was very out spoken very arrogant. At the age of 37 she was baptized. Throughout her life she was in the mist of many wars. Queen Njinga is known for her great escapes during battle, there are holes and caves that helped her escape that are still visible . In 1757 Queen Njinga wrote a letter to the Pope. She asked religious leaders to send missionaries so that they could run the different churches so that Europeans would take over . On the 18th of November, 1663, Njinga died.
